VoidTools can perform technical, network and system-level actions. You control what it runs and remain responsible for every target, input, configuration, output and consequence. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access, download, install or use VoidTools.
1. Acceptance and scope
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the VoidTools project operator (“VoidTools”, “we”, “us” or “our”). They apply to voidtools.software, the VoidTools desktop application, accounts, downloads, updates, documentation and any related feature or service (together, the “Services”).
By accessing or using any Service, creating an account, or clicking an acceptance control, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services for an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that organisation.
2. Eligibility, accounts and subscriptions
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement. Accounts and authentication are provided through Clerk. You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your sign-in method and device, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
You may not share, sell, rent, transfer or automate access to an account, evade account restrictions, or create accounts using false or stolen information. We may rely on Clerk and its service providers to authenticate users, manage sessions and, where offered, administer subscriptions.
If a paid plan is offered, its price, billing period, included features, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase. Charges, taxes, refunds and statutory withdrawal rights are governed by the checkout terms and applicable law. We do not store full payment-card details. You may manage or cancel an eligible subscription through the account interface or the billing method shown at purchase.
3. Limited software licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to install and use an official VoidTools release for lawful personal or internal business purposes. No ownership rights are transferred.
Except where applicable law or a separate open-source licence expressly permits it, you may not copy, redistribute, resell, lease, bypass access controls, remove legal notices, impersonate VoidTools, or reverse engineer the proprietary parts of the Services. Components made available under a separate licence remain governed by that licence.
5. You control the actions and assume the risk
You choose whether and how to run each feature. Before doing so, you must understand the action, verify the target and parameters, assess its legality and impact, obtain required consent, and create tested backups and recovery media. You are responsible for administrator permissions, security-software alerts, firewall or network changes, account restrictions, service-provider enforcement and all results produced from your inputs.
System optimisation, repair, identifier, driver, injection, automation, network and code-transformation features can cause data loss, instability, incompatibility, downtime, account action, loss of warranty or irreversible changes. Results can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or unsuitable for your environment. Do not use VoidTools on production, safety-critical, medical, emergency, industrial-control or other high-risk systems. Independently review every output before relying on it.
6. Local files, backups and deletion
VoidTools does not operate a central application database for your workspace content. Settings, reports, scan history, recent-item history, backups and other working data may be stored locally on your device, including in browser/WebView storage and your Windows user folders. You are responsible for securing, backing up, exporting, retaining and deleting those files.
Uninstalling the application, signing out or deleting a Clerk account may not remove every local file, report, backup or cache. Conversely, clearing application data, browser/WebView data or Windows folders may permanently remove information. Review the Privacy Policy for account and provider-side data.
7. Third-party services, content and outputs
The Services may use or link to Clerk, GitHub, Google, Microsoft WebView2, external APIs, content sources, websites, media providers and other third parties. Their availability, data practices, content, terms and decisions are outside our control. Your use of them is governed by their terms. Links and integrations do not imply endorsement, ownership or a guarantee of legality, accuracy, safety or continued availability.
You are responsible for any data or request you choose to send to a third party and for ensuring that such transmission is lawful. We are not a party to disputes between you and a third party and are not responsible for third-party content, accounts, blocks, charges, outages, security incidents or changes.
8. Downloads, updates and service changes
Download only from voidtools.software or an official VoidTools release channel and verify available hashes or signatures where provided. You are responsible for deciding whether an installer or update is appropriate for your system.
We may add, modify, restrict, suspend, discontinue or remove any Service, release, plan or feature at any time, including for security, legal, operational or abuse-prevention reasons. We do not promise continued support, backward compatibility, data recovery, a particular release schedule or permanent availability. Updates may be required for security or continued access.
9. Intellectual property and feedback
VoidTools, its branding, original interface, documentation and proprietary software are owned by or licensed to the operator and are protected by applicable law. Third-party names and content belong to their respective owners.
You retain rights in content you lawfully provide. You grant us only the rights reasonably necessary to process an instruction you initiate. If you voluntarily submit feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or compensation, without identifying you publicly unless you consent.
10. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage.
We do not warrant that the Services or results will be accurate, complete, current, secure, uninterrupted, error-free, free from harmful components, compatible with your environment, or capable of preventing or detecting every issue. No statement, documentation or support response creates a warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VoidTools and its operator, contributors, licensors and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential loss; loss or corruption of data; loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or opportunity; system damage; downtime; account suspension; third-party claims; or the cost of substitute services, arising from or related to the Services, even if advised that such loss was possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid directly for the affected Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable, or your mandatory consumer rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Responsibility for claims caused by your use
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless VoidTools and its operator, contributors and licensors from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, penalties, judgments and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your unlawful or unauthorised use, your breach of these Terms, your content or outputs, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
If you are a consumer, this obligation applies only to the extent the claim results from your intentional or negligent unlawful conduct and only where permitted by mandatory law. We may control the defence of a covered claim, and you must reasonably cooperate. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault or imposes obligations on us without our written consent.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may restrict or terminate access, invalidate sessions or refuse support where we reasonably believe you breached these Terms, created security or legal risk, abused the Services, failed to pay an applicable charge, or where suspension is required by a provider or authority. Where practical and lawful, we may provide notice.
Upon termination, your licence ends and you must stop using the affected Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity and general legal terms—will survive. Termination does not automatically delete local data or provider-held account data.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, providers, law, security or risk. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated by a reasonable method where required by law. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
15. General legal terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement concerning the Services unless separate written terms apply to a purchase or feature. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation, transfer of the project or business, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Applicable law and the competent courts are determined by mandatory conflict-of-law and jurisdiction rules. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory protections or the right to bring proceedings in a court available under the law of your habitual residence.
